In my quiet time I read

“Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God”

Romans 10:17

now truly ponder and meditate with me for a moment

(and no you don’t have to get all crazy and light incense to meditate)

Just think about what you are reading

while you are reading

asking God the Father

to reveal to you any truths

that you may need to apply during or after reading

now back to our verse…

“Faith cometh by hearing..”

and according to Hebrews 11:1

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen;

it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.

“and hearing by the word of God”

so how do we hear?

and hear from who?

We hear from God

when we read His word

and when we hear from God

through His word

FAITH cometh…

confidence grows

and answers are assured

How can we have faith

if we don’t read His word??

How can we REALLY know Him if we don’t read his Word?

Kay Arthur, in her study Lord, Teach Me to Pray quotes George Mueller, a man who saw mighty answers to prayer as he was led by God to care for orphans without asking for financial support:

“Who am I listening to? To GOD and His WORD?  or to what people say? “

Great question.

who are we listening to?
