Teacher.
At a very early age
I KNEW
I wanted to be
and
was going to be
a teacher.
And today
I am.
For 12+ years I have been a public educator
the first six months of my career
a Kindergarten teacher
and the last twelve years
a 1st grade teacher
It has been a wonderful chapter of my life
I have been inspired by hundreds of children
Worked with some AMAZING people
of which many
are lifelong friends
and for all of the above
I am eternally grateful!
But today I am more than a teacher.
I am
a mother
of two
amazing
rowdy
blond headed
blue eyed
little boys.

I adore them.
Recently I was convicted over the fact that I had pleaded with the Lord for YEARS for these two little fellas…Had endured a combined total of 49 weeks strict bed rest to get them here and yet I was choosing to pay others to take care of them while I worked.
Now I completely understand those of you who do not share my heart to homeschool.
I have been where you are.
Years ago a dear friend of mine chose to home school her three children. I ridiculed her. I warned her that her children would be socially challenged. I was wrong. I have since asked my friend for her forgiveness. Her children are AMAZING, respectful, obedient young adults who love their family and the Lord!
So Monday morning I will begin my 1st year
as a teacher
from home.
And I am sooooo excited!

Coming to say hi from 4 little Fergusons! 🙂 Proud of you for taking the leap to stay home and even better…to teach your two precious boys! We have thought long and hard about homeschooling, but for now we are at my alma mater, a small Christian school near by. If we ever cannot afford tuition, mommy becomes Mrs. Mommy, teacher extrordinare! lol 🙂
