this morning
in my quiet time I read
Isaiah 61:10
“I will greatly rejoice in the Lord
My soul shall be joyful in my God
For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation
He has covered me with the robe of righteousness….

After reading those words
I began to ponder
the Honor and privilege
that is mine
and YOURS if you call
Jesus, Savior
I thought about how excited
I have gotten at times
over new dresses
or outfits
or shoes
or accessories
and how special
certain attire
makes me feel
and how it
effects my moods and/or actions
which lead me
to the thought of my
spiritual attire
“For He has clothed me with with the garments of salvation”
“He has covered me with the robe of righteousness…”
When God looks at me
He doesn’t see ME
He sees me “cloaked in His light”
I wear His Son’s robe of righteousness…
wow.
isn’t that a refreshing
humbling thought
so many
work for His love
and
yet
salvation is a gift (Ephesians 2:8-9)
a free gift
for those who believe (John 3:16)
I encourage you (and note to self!)
to consider
our spiritual attire as
we dress for the day
(pic compliments of Google Images) |
to remember
we are arrayed in His righteousness
and as
Sarah Young so eloquently writes in Jesus Calling
“There is no condemnation for those who are clothed in Me”
so wear your robe…..
wear it with honor
wear it lovely
wear it humbly
wear it well
:O)much love
