in this life
Seasons of change
are in inevitable
they come and go
as faithfully
as the natural seasons
some changes
we embrace
others make us cry
seasons of life
have weighed
particularly heavy on my heart
the last few days (most assuredly onset by my hormonal changes)
and still
this morning
affirmed
through the sobering message
at church
reminding me
that unfortunately
NONE of us are getting any younger
and there are MANY
IMPORTANT lessons
yet
to be learned from through
Old Testament poetry and
wise, King Solomon
Ecclesiastes 1:21
“Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator.
Honor him in your youth before you grow old and no longer enjoy living.”
I will be the FIRST to admit
that I have
too often
allowed
the excitement of life
DISTRACT me from
my PURPOSE
which is FIRST and FOREMOST
to GLORIFY HIM
surely I’m not alone..?
if you will allow me
to challenge you with
the same message
that challenged me
How often
in your youth
have you allowed
the PLEASURES of life
or the STUFF of this world
or your WORK
or SOMEONE
DISTRACT you from your purpose?
we get so caught up
in the RAT RACE
that we FORGET
WE ARE ON THE CLOCK!
HIS CLOCK.
and it’s an humbling
sobering TRUTH
I believe
now more
than ever
“Vanity of vanities……All is vanity.”
so this week
as we start each new day
let’s remember
WHY WE ARE HERE….
let’s GIVE HIM
OUR BEST
and HONOR HIM
each day with
our attitude
and MORE IMPORTANTLY
with
our actions
and
“…Let NOT advancing years cause you to settle for less than His best.”
but instead let us
live with the mindset
“Why shouldn’t a warrior’s
LAST VICTORY BE HIS GREATEST? “-Vance Havner
Beautiful post and a good reminder-“we are on the clock-His clock.”
