it’s been an emotionally heavy week around here
sister nurse lost her precious father in law to cancer early Sunday morning
he was precious,
Loving and kind,
generous, meek
and genuinely loved by many.
He will be dearly & sincerely missed
Sister and her hub are the first of us to go through the loss of a parent
it’s been heartbreaking
on many levels
especially for my nephew
he’s little, and tender and doesn’t understand
we’ve talked and listened
hugged and encouraged him as best we know how
and He’ll be fine
I just know it
because God is
“close to the broken hearted”
some other dear friends of ours
are facing some scary, scary stuff
preterm labor
surgery
cancer.
Life is tough y’all.
CAN I GET AN AMEN??
what do YOU DO when life’s sends you a quick left hook
or a swift one to the gut?
the kind of punch that leaves you breathless.
or MAD!
or so sad you feel as though you may suffocate??
that leaves your head spinning & you don’t know what to do?
or think?
or how to feel?
I was given the privilege this morning to join some sweet sisters in Christ
in a time of fellowship and prayer
my hope and prayer
was to encourage them
when we find ourselves in the midst of grave uncertainty,
focus on what we DO KNOW:
GOD IS SOVEREIGN.
next:
we have a choice to make:
#1-To present ourselves as a living sacrifice to our Maker,
|
or
#2- “crawl off the altar” & run when life gets tough.
which have you chosen to live by today?
some days are easy to be “found faithful”
other days…..
not so much
so how can we
on those knock-the-wind out of you days
be “found faithful”??
someone defined “faith” as “one step at a time on a dark path”
sound scary? yes.
hard? yes.
absolutely necessay if we want to please Him?? YES.
|
I ask tonight that you join me as I
pray without ceasing
for my dear, sweet friends and their families
as they
“take one step at a time down their dark paths”
trusting in the only One worthy.
Thank you for your encouraging words. Just this week I had a conversation with a friend about how tough life has become and how thankful we are to have the Lord in our lives to help us through. “So do not fear for I am with you. Do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you.” Thank you Lord:)
Life is tough but God is faithful…and I’m.so.glad. He is because some days are r-e-a-l-l-y tough! Have a blesses evening.
Karmen, I read your blogs and they are so uplifting! They are encouraging and help me to stop and think so much about my life and how important it is to embrace God’s love every day. Thank you for sharing with us!
Thanks Anita :O) Grateful you are encouraged..It’s good for all of us to stop, catch and breath and ponder things from time to time…Have a blessed day…
