I asked my parents a few weeks back

what’s been you favorite season of life ??

they didn’t know it then

but I recorded their answers with my phone

their responses…

priceless.

My Precious mother said her favorite season was the late sixties,

her teen years

despite the loss of her precious mother

kids are resilient

she loved the music

Age of Aquarius”

her brothers were playing music

so she and her sister Suz were where is was happenin’!

“Groovin’ on a Sunday Afternoon..”

daddy said his favorite year was the bicentennial

they were living in Myrtle Beach

singing at the Bowery

living “high on the hog”

no worries

few responsibilities

I made note of a quote that he shared during our chat

he said, “get ready for it girls..”

“forty is the old age of youth..

Fifty is the youth of old age…”

and though forty is just around the corner

as a thirty something mother of two

I’d say

hands down

the season I’m in

is by far my

FAV!

my teen years were shady

poor choices

lots of guilt

my early twenties were fun

a newlywed

life was exciting

we traveled

spoiled ourselves & each other

rotten

by mid-twenties

I began to see how vain I was

materialistic

greedy

and then

our season of infertility and loss

tough years..

at 30….

well, I actually got depressed on my thirtieth birthday

invited a handful of my closest friends over

to sit on our front porch and listen to me whine a while…

the next day

I was over it

and have been savoring

what I call

my wisest years yet.

AND this is where we

ALL

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“wisest years yet”…bahahahahah

let’s review for those of you who may be new to our neck of the woods:

in my 35th year

I left my career

came home, began homeschooling our children, started a new business, bought another and……..

it’s still another month until my birthday

so who knows what I’ll get into between now and then!

nah, all kidding aside

wise or foolish?

scared or brave?

I wouldn’t have it any other way

a husband to love

children to cherish

Living each day

faithfully at the feet of my Savior

am I perfect?

not this side of eternity

no not one…

I’m forgiven

living full of His grace each day

THANKFUL for His blessings in our life

Praying to be found faithful

Believing that our best days will only get better

now it’s YOU TURN!…what’s been your favorite season of life thus far??
