remember I am real
I don’t believe in accidents
I cherish my family
and LOVE the LORD!

and because I am real
I will share with you
that yesterday and today
I have been fighting
the “mulligrubs”

you know?
the “wah-wahs…”

the “why is this happening to me right now?”
the ” I don’t have time for this distraction?”

but you you know what else?
it’s not really the wah-wahs
 or the mulligrubs

it’s really warfare.

spiritual warfare

you know how I know?

because we are on a “Faith Journey”

one of my nearest and dearest
shared those words
with me today..

and it was with those two words:
“Faith Journey”

that the Lord prompted me to pray
to cry out to him

and so I did
with tears of frustration
and a discouraged heart
as David did in Psalm 50:15

“Call upon me in the day of trouble
and I WILL rescue you
and you WILL give me glory.”

and as I was crying out to him
with tears flowing down my face

my sweet, loving Savior reminded me
of the very FIRST sentence from
my quiet time yesterday

“THANK ME for the very things that are troubling you.”

and nope.
I am NOT kidding.

my devotion from
“Jesus Calling”
by Sarah Young
went on to say:
“You are tempted to indulge in just a little complaining about My treatment of you…The best protection against this indulgence is thanksgiving.  It is impossible to thank Me and curse Me at the same time….Thankfulness awakens you to My Presence, which overshadows all your problems.”

and if those words weren’t enough
the scripture reference from yesterday

just so happened
to be my VERY FAVORITE verses!!
Phillipians 4:6&7

6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

and so tonight
I choose to be THANKFUL!
and I am filled with sweet, sweet peace that surpasses all understanding
because
even with all that I still do not know

what I DO KNOW

is

Romans 8:28-29:
28 And we know that God causes everything to work together[a] for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

  1. Although sometimes hard to accept/manage, being thankful and content in our Savior during those times we want to scream and say “Why me?” gives a quick and sweet victory. Good word Karmen!
