that title
 has a twofold meaning
for me
one being
 that today was
 back to school!!!

for me and the rascals
and it was our
VERY first day
of school
from home
 and it was
FANTASTIC!!
I shared with bestie
that it was all
that I had
hoped and prayed
it would be
and a
pinch more
the boys
were extremely cooperative
and sopped up
the undivided attention
they received
our morning:

yummy breakfast
devotion in the kitchen
(read by Cowboy Dan)
then
he had a client
haul in to shoe
so he could work from home
(which I know he strategically arranged so that
 he wouldn’t miss anything)

the rascals and I
began with
our Bible verse
Phonics/vowel review
 a read aloud
handwriting
sight word practice for Tuck
Mighty Mouse a matching game
break for snack
and to
RUN
and SCREAM
outside
because for those of you who don’t have boys and for those of you that do
YOU KNOW
running and screaming
outside
must be allowed

then
we were back in
for calendar
Math and numbers
we sang
we smiled
We read about the seashore
examined seashells
talked about fish and the ocean
look at nonfiction books
related to our oceanic discussion
and then to
wrap up
we
had a recap and review of
our morning phonics lesson
we made
Elmo the elephant
and the for our life connection to our lesson
we went
out on the back porch
in our bare feet
and the rascals
drew water into a straw
to spew like an elephant
to help them remember
the short “e” sound

all of the above
 and we were done
 just under three hours
Tuck said “Momma, school REALLY is supposed to last longer.  Really.”

which brings me back to the
two fold meaning
of
back to school
call me old fashion
a dreamer
maybe a little of both but
I say
bring
BACK to school
“old school style”
back :O)

can hardly wait for day 2.

PS-see if you can count how many syllables I put in the word
“purrrffffeeeeccccct”
in the video above
