had a hard time narrowing down
what I’m most thankful for today
we had a extraordinarily good day today
not that we don’t have good days often
but today
was really good
in spite of the early start (I’m a night owl not a rooster)
got a call @ 430 am
“horses in the road”
they weren’t ours
Cowboy Dan drove them home
after that
we were up and running
school for the rascals
ran ahead of schedule
so we headed outside
to savor
the BEAUTIFUL day
I declared war
on the leaves in our yard
a tough fight
but
I WON! (my movement tomorrow may resemble that of molasses)
the rascals
wrestled the puppies
played farm and tiger cub camp out
roasted mini marshmallows
frolicked
chatted
laughed
we stayed outside until
the dark ran us in
enjoyed our favorite supper
bean, greens and tenderloin
while listening to Charlie Brown Christmas music
(It’s all I can do to contain my holiday happy!!)

I batted my eyes
and convinced Cowboy Dan to let me put up the tree
after supper
(we actually bartered..)
he wanted a haircut
I wanted the tree up
we both won.
Cowboy Dan and the rascals “helped” put the tree up (lol)
because I’m one of those cheesy women
who still enjoy the whole family being a part of the tree assembly
Christmas music filling the air
and me almost giddy
when Mighty Mouse turned on the charm and said
“I just love this”
my reply:
“me too buddy, me too.”
and I do
love
all of the above
and how together
it makes this house
