On paper…..

Some things just don’t make sense…

Today I had a sweet friend call for advice

She’s been treated unfairly

is mad

hurt

and wants to be in a different position

She asked me what she should do about the situation….

If I may ask…..what would you have said to her??

Here’s my two cents..

 “…to everything there is a season…”

“Be honest with those who have hurt you

Prayerfully go to them

Share your heart and be real

If you have questions, ask

If you want to transfer, put in for it

If you get it, REJOICE!

If you don’t, KNOW there is a GREATER PURPOSE in your staying.”

As my friend and I were talking

I shared with her the timeliness of her call..

When I received her call I was sitting alone

on a trailer in front of our block barn

Feeling a bit overwhelmed

Remember…I’m real & I DON’T believe in accidents

In the moments just before this call

I had been wandering aimlessly around the barnyard

Because it had been one of those days

my “to-do” list had almost gotten the best of me

before going outside

To wander

And think

And pray

pulling the rascals little red wagon behind me

picking up anything on the ground I could find…

I had made my way to the barn

and decided to sit down

“to BE STILL and KNOW that HE IS GOD”

As I looked across our barn lot

 my mind began to race

As I thought of all that has gone on

In the barn lot

and in our lives in the last twelve months

Resigning from my job during a recession

doesn’t make sense on paper

Establishing a new business hosting farm camps and birthday parties on our farm

is something no one around here had done

Homeschooling the rascals

And most recently

purchasing a feed and seed store

Pondering how we’re going to manage it all …

Cowboy Dan’s horseshoeing season

And hay season

And vacation

And life

When I stopped and shook my head

No.

No. I will NOT become anxious

No. I will NOT worry.

We will manage

By HIS GRACE

And with HIS STRENGTH

One.

Day.

 At.

 A time.

Which brings me back to my first thought

On paper…

In this life..

Many things don’t add up….They don’t make sense

And that’s okay

We choose to  “live by faith, not by sight.”
