Do you believe “the battle is good” ??

I do.  Here’s my why ..

Today concludes a twelve week study I’ve been leading on the book “Calm My Anxious Heart”

Going in to this study I knew the enemy would kick it up a notch or two and was quite sure he would attempt to distract or attack or both-me and those I hold most dear.  And he has.  Mostly me but not only.  And that’s okay.  And here’ s why.

Walking back through this life changing book I was reminded of several things.

#1 God is the Blessed Controller of ALL things.  Nothing. n-o-t-h-i-n-g. takes Him by surprise or is accidental.

#2 I am “fearfully and wonderfully made” .  I have a purpose.  I am good at some things and not so good at others for a reason.  I should not compare my lot, my appearance, my role, my relationships OR my circumstances with others.  To do so is foolish.  I want to be wise.

#3  To accomplish #2 I must remember #1 AND keep my focus on The Lord. He is The Blessed Controller of ALL THINGS. Lest I forget –He is faithful, He is Sovereign.  He is loving.  He is wise.  I must not worry, or play with the deadly diseases of “what if”, “if only” or “why”..To worry is sin.  “What if” and “if only” lack the eyes of faith.

My mind has been my most recent battlefield.

#4  The battles have kept me needy of my Savior who loves me and sent His Son for me.  On my on- I fail.  I stumble and worry and become anxious over silly things.

The battles #5 remind me to “gird myself with the truth, putting on the breastplate of righteousness, ..to shoe my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace: above all taking the shield of faith- so that I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one..”

Because just so you know-the darts don’t stop just because you lead or go a class at church, or  because you go to church or because you tithe or because you’re good to your enemy..that’s all fine and jim-dandy.

The one and only thing that really matters-the only full proof-bullet proof-dart attack proof strategy to getting through the fiery battles of this life is to have a personal -one on one-intimate relationship with

The Blessed Controller of all things,

Jesus Christ.

“I am the way, the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

  1. I have enjoyed this class so much…..sorry I could not make it to the very end!! I still believe in my heart though that I was meant to be in this class for several reasons. God has given me peace in my heart regarding several issues, because of what I have learned through this study!! Thank you Karmen, for your willingness to share and lead!! You are AWESOME and I know that God has BIG plans for you with your women’s studies and your book!!! Love you sister!!

  3. God knew I needed to read this. Thank you for sharing. I especially appreciated #4. I sometimes (a lot of times) think that I have things under control or that I can figure it out on my own. WRONG! I NEED my Lord. Battles so keep that in the forefront of my mind. Thank you again.
