commitment
& marriage
are work
last week had a a heart-to-heart
with a recently divorced friend
who is a NEW BELIEVER & FOLLOWER of Christ
during our conversation
I reflected upon
and shared my GRATITUDE
for my parent’s steadfast relationship
by GOD’s grace they will be married
42 YEARS on Feb 1
I’m more grateful today
than ever before
to have had
COMMITMENT
modeled for me
I’ve said it before
and I’ll say it again
my parents aren’t perfect
they’re committed
they rarely ever argued in front of the sisters & me
best I can recall
as tones would change
or brows begin to rise
one or the other would say
“we’ll discuss this later”
they have both been very open to share
with the sisters, me and our hubs
their joys
as well as their frustrations
and at times
have been brutally honest
with their advice
I am grateful
some things I’ve noted & shared with my friend:
people will
disappoint us
lie
be ugly
selfish
and proud
Our Savior
is none of the above
in fact
He is the exact opposite
He never fails
Is TRUTH
and is completely selfless
and by His grace
we too
can be transformed
and REMAIN COMMITTED
LOVE month (WOOHOO)

What is #PrayerDare?
#PrayerDare is: an online community initiative with the goal of equipping, encouraging, and holding women accountable to practice the daily discipline of prayer. Each month, the #PrayerDare community will dedicate the entire month to praying for a specific topic. #PrayerDare will launch on February 1, and we’ll be spending the “month of love” praying for our husbands*.

but God is faithful

and more times than not
makes all the difference
