starting well matters

wether in regards to spiritual matters

parenting practices or

education

consider with me for a moment a few scenarios:

Speaking as a former first grade teacher

it was OBVIOUS the children who were started well

the children who had been read to at an early age and those who had not…

children who were interacted with, taught appropriate behaviors and manners outside of the classroom

and those whose parents left it “up to the teacher”

those who were started well at home

typically ended our year together leaps and bounds ahead of the others

Next, let’s take a stroll down memory lane and consider your friends, my friends

kids in our neighborhood

those who were given limitations, certain expectations, a curfew

started well

and those, who for various reasons had little rearing and/or were left to “find their own way”

NOT ALWAYS

but more times than not

=troubled

and last but certainly not least

let’s take a moment to consider our spiritual health, our loved ones, our friends, neighbors, coworkers

those who have started well

their relationship with Christ

those who have accepted the invitation of simple faith and truly repented,

“…As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted…in Him…” Col 2:6-7a

since accepting Him as Savior

have made it a practice to regularly read His word

to pray

serve and share with others what HE has done

started well

those who speak of faith and LIVE FAITHFULLY

there is a difference.

 starting well.

will it guarantee a life of ease?  no.

but it helps.

when the hard days come, and they will

having started well

helps.

is it too late? NO.

His grace is NEW each day.

If your journey didn’t start well

start new.

If your parenting practices aren’t working

start new.

by His grace

start well
