do you pray for your kids???

and not just a “now I lay me down to sleep…”

I mean do you REALLY pray for your children? or the children you may have one day?

for them to have a compassionate heart, for their protection, future relationships, their purity, their witness, future spouse, their purpose?

prayer

 their salvation?

the ol’ cliche’ “the Lord works in mysterious ways”

is so very, very true

Sunday we heard a great message from our youth pastor on the habit of prayer

& how it is imperative if we are to have a healthy relationship with our Savior.

During the message we heard testimony of how prayer was modeled for our youth pastor every single day….

He  saw his dad reading God’s word and praying

early in the morning

every. single. day.

He saw him..

he didn’t just hear of his dad’s quiet time

or wasn’t just told he should have a quite time

it was modeled for him..daily…what a legacy!

& how fitting …..

June’s #PrayerDare is 30 Days of Praying for our children

if you’re not “in the know” read more about the #PrayerDare here

we’re only five days in

so you’re not too late

won’t you join me???

in praying for your children

Amanda, at A Royal Daughter has been so kind as to create prayer prompt cards

feel free to download or not

they’re merely a suggestion

you know your children

their needs, your family’s needs, strengths, weaknesses

I simply want to challenge you &

encourage you to pray for your babies

and maybe they aren’t babies anymore?

pray anyways

maybe they’re wayward, away from the Lord in complete rebellion?

pray anyways

maybe yours are infants, pure as the driven snow

pray anyways

maybe your depressed, or stressed

pray anyways

maybe your exhausted from all the swimming or fishing or hiking or cheering or baseball or VBS?

pray anyways

pray for your children

pray with your children

let them hear you pray

be real

be you

don’t try to impress them

or God

just talk

and listen

He already knows all there is to know and so much more

He simply wants to hear from you

need a great place to start?

try the model prayer, found in Matthew 6:5-8

Jesus’s prayer,

use it as your guide as you pray for your child’s

purpose, provision, pardon, protection

together PRAISE HIM from whom all blessings flow

His word is clear

“Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving.”  Colossians 4:2

“Pray without ceasing.” I Thessalonians 5:17

goodnight y’all,

sweet dreams :O)
