I’ve been pondering and praying through the plethora of information that was shared at The Influence Conference this past weekend…

Considering mostly a recurring question …

what are you afraid of?

The question was presented in a variety of ways but the bottom line was/is:

what are you afraid of?

what hinders us from doing “our thing” for HIM?!

We’ve established here time and time again that EVERYBODY’s a 10 at something.

Maybe you paint, fix things, sew, sing, write, craft, cook, are frugal, are mechanically inclined, great with a computer, teaching or speaking

the list goes on and on and on-

so?

what’s YOUR THING that YOU CAN DO FOR HIM?

and what’s keeping you from doing __________ for Him?

Most recently I have been affirmed to WRITE A BOOK. (WHAT?!?!- did I just say that I’m GOING TO WRITE A BOOK?!) Why yes, yes I did.  I’m going to share real, AUTHENTIC stories and tell of the Lord’s goodness, gracious, relentless faithfulness through our good, bad and ugly seasons of life.

So, what am I most afraid of??

#1 commas and most other forms of punctuation (except the “!” I LOVE THAT ONE!!!!)

#2 will there be enough content to keep the readers engaged?

#3 who cares about a Jesus follower, country girl from Alabama who married a skinny cowboy and became a loss mother, former school teacher now stay at home-homeschooling mother of two little rowdy rascals?

there. there they are..my fears.

Now, let me tell you what I’m doing with them.

#1.  I’m going to leave the commas and all other forms of punctuation to the editor..because editors edit.  Writers write.

#2 I’m going to pray through the content.  Sharing authentically what He has done in our lives. I’m going to share the good, the bad and the ugly and trust Him to work the stories for the greater good.

#3 I’m going to write because He cares for me-more than that- He loves me AND YOU. And He has been so good, so very very good I MUST SHARE with you-and maybe just maybe -you’ll be encouraged, intrigued or INSPIRED to know Him better

So, how about you?

Have you ever named YOUR FEAR(s)??

If not, DO IT!!!!  Write your fear(s) down and then step back and ask -is this or that REALLY that scary?? Steps of faith are often risky. Scary even. That’s okay because He is faithful and has promised to NEVER LEAVE US OR FORSAKE US…

He is greater than our greatest fear.

Did you know that fear not is mentioned 365 times in the Bible?

Don’t you find it just a teeny-tiny bit ironic that-that is exactly how many days are in a year.  One FEAR NOT for each day.

So, will you join me in FEARING NOT today??

Start today! Do whatever it is that YOU are a 10 at FOR HIM! and you know -it may be that your actions or deeds don’t really change all that much…it may simply be a heart change<3

love ya’ll

Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

  1. Who cares about commas…LOL. You will never run out of things to say and we won’t get tired of listening! FYI: afraid of snakes!!!!! And fear of loss…. Those dear to me!

  2. I will have to “ponder” this question, I use to have many fears but have overcome many. You are a great writer. Keeping our attention with your down-to-earth honesty. Keep it up. Who cares about grammar ? Not me, just ask Chrissy.

  3. Hi,

the fear of God is what is running mad in me. I want to work for the Lord and I have tried and keep telling I want to do this and I will do that and I’m not able to do so. I fear about all this and I’m unable to face few people because for the same. please pray that I overcome this fear, for I also know that God ia love and He will help me to overcome. for that I need to ask and so I have asked and requet you also do the same so that I will grow myself in the Lord. God be with all of us at all times.

    regards
    Nisha Vijay

    1. Hi Nisha thank you for reading and taking time to comment..Fear is a crippling thing. It’s something the Lord knew we would battle often and certainly why He included 365 scriptures encouraging us to FEAR NOT! Hang in there!
