yes I realize it’s the 27th-and I’ve missed a couple of days

it’s okay-I’ve been out living the life I write about here on the blog :O)

I’m going to do my best to finish strong

with 5 days left this month

that means at least 5 more INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE

*****

heard a powerful message this morning on making disciples (you know? which is the whole reason we’re here!-yea, that.)

“make disciples”  is a command-not a suggestion and in order to “go ye therefore and make disciples”  we must first settle the issue -am I? are you? truly a disciple-

disciple= “a committed learner, one who is committed to believing in, learning from and obeying Jesus Christ”...

our pastor graciously shared the names of those who had discipled him through the years and of course-

my mother came to mind

I’ve mentioned mother many times here on the blog… her humorous mishaps, her heart & passion for my daddy, the sisters and me.  Her love for her siblings and their children- how selfless, caring and giving she is …always

the one relationship I haven’t spoken much of is the one she has with her Savior and Lord,  Jesus Christ

and although I’m quite certain if you’ve met my momma, talked with her or read even one post I have written about her it is ABSOLUTELY, WITHOUT A DOUBT -obvious that

-my mother loves Jesus with all of her heart, soul and mind

momma’s never had to tell us to love the Lord..her actions leave no need for words!

Her unwavering love for Him has inspired each of us to love Him more  because she loves Him so very much

She starts every day with Jesus

just her Bible, her journal and Him

she reads His word and writes her prayers-sharing her heart with her Savior because He cares

She brings her family’s needs, her friends burdens and her heartaches to Him because He is faithful to listen

her strength and peace and joy rest in Him

I’ve written about how my mother serves and sees after more people than I can keep up with or count

why? because she loves Him

she diligently mends, recycles, saves, stores up and stewards all that He has blessed her with

because she believes “that every good and perfect gift ” is from Him

She sings about Him at church, at nursing homes and funerals because she loves Him and wants to share the joy that comes from knowing Him with the lonely, sad and lost

She is merciful, and forgiving often because she has been forgiven much

She is welcoming and hospitable always because she believes

‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

She is who she is because of who Jesus is

and I am who I am greatly because of her

Because of the disciplined -not perfect life she has chosen to live before me-

surrendered

faithfully obeying her Redeemer that said “go ye therefore and make disciples” Matt 28:19

she’s doing her part

inspiring me to do more and be more

for Him

PS-won’t you join us?
