“we’re havin’ a heatwave, a tropical heatwave…” is what we were singin’ yesterday in our best Walter Matthau voice ..You know, from the movie Grumpy Old Men? We love that movie but even more than we love that movie we loved that it was in the 50s yesterday and we could STAY OUTSIDE!!!!!!!! Can I get an AMEN from all the mommas out there?!?!?!? After church Cowboy Dan,
the rascals and I loaded up in the truck to go check the cows in the upper pasture
this little cutie wanted to dress “just like daddy”…can you stand his little “frenkles” also known as freckles under this little hat with his little vest? I can’t. Okay, I’ll stop now. Look at that little dimple. I’m in love with this kid.
and this one. Who wants to do things “just like daddy”.. “I can do it mom.” He says to me and he can and I can hardly stand it. He’s grown. I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be. But don’t tell him that. He’d be embarrassed and I’ll be in trouble.
Isn’t she a beaut! She’s my favorite momma cow. Meet Oreo.
This is not a bad shot. And of course I’m referring to the other momma cows not the cutie to the right —————>
just cruisin’ along checking mineral feeders
then this happened.
We had to walk out. Neither of us had our phones. Yes, that still happens. People go places without phones. I do lots of times mostly because I can’t find my phone but most recently because the screen is black and it’s useless but that’s another story for another day. Cowboy Dan didn’t have his phone because he wishes he didn’t have a phone and pretends like he doesn’t lots of days. This being one of those days. So we walked out. And we’d already decided we would take a walk and enjoy the sun. Just not exactly where we had in mind of walkin’
the short one didn’t enjoy the walk nearly as much as I did
it was all up hill
Once we made it to the top and back out to the main road we started looking for familiar passer-bys..THANKFULLY and much to the rascals delight -Uncle came by. The rascals acted as though we’d just hiked the Sahara on the 4th of July..
Uncle and his gang were hauling a c-r-a-z-y- bull that I would have gladly taken a picture of except that I seriously thought he was going to come through the side of the trailer and stomp me. To death.
Cowboy Dan devised a plan and with his brothers mighty assistance
woohooo! nothin’ a little blue Ford, a lil 4 wheel drive and a chain can’t fix!
turns out it was a fresh water spring. Good to know.
Shortly there after we made it back home and were able to take our family hike to ICICLE CAVE…
the boys love it..
Cowboy Dan loves it but I’m absolutely sure that I love it the most. It’s dreamy and eerie and really cool all at the same time.
it was a great afternoon..
looking forward to spring <3
g’night y’all
:O)k
Love love love the pictorial…. so blessed to enjoy your family and the circumstances that happen daily. So many take for granted the precious moments of the family as a unit. Think Ill live vicariously through your eyes for awhile. I miss my family since they have moved back to Florida. This will help me through the withdrawal, lol. Thank you for sharing. You are truly blessed.
WOW how crazy is that ice! What a fun life you lead 🙂
