WOW! a BIG THANK YOU to all of you who were able to make it to got PURPOSE? #weekone
yes, I know it was Super Bowl Sunday and no, I didn’t realize that when I set the date for #weekone
here’s a quick recap of what we went over as well as the suggested readings for #weektwo
my hope and prayer is to stir you with questions..help you to discover or rediscover….encourage you to reflect…ponder
- YOUR PURPOSE???
- what personality type are you?
- what are your spiritual gifts?
- what are you MOST passionate about?
- how can we honor God in it all and through it all? and what does that look like ?
to echo Rick Warren or maybe tell you for the first time…
“It’s not about you.”
The Bible says in Col. 1:16
16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.
So if we want “to know that we know that we know“ as my pastor used to say.. we must ask the One who created us the question
“What on earth am I here for?”
We looked at
- Job 12:10
- Matthew 16:24& 25
- Romans 12:2
Then I asked, “Up to this point, what image or metaphor has best described your life?”
- a roller coaster
- a circus
- a hamster running on a wheel
- treading water
- a train wreck
And we discussed how God can and is working ALL of it for a greater good…and for His glory..
So where do we start in our attempt to discover or rediscover our purpose?
We start with Him. The One who fearfully and wonderfully made each of us. We get alone with Him and we ask Him what He wants for our life?
because- “Without God life makes no sense.”
#weektwo SUGGESTED READINGS
