you'll see things in reverse, is it true?

by Karmen |

What does your bookshelf look like?

No, that is not today’s question….just curious as to what you’re reading…

Do you  (A)read one at a time and soak it all in or (B)do you read a chapter from one in the morning and another chapter from one of the 3 to 5 others you are reading at night?

This is me raising my hand for (B)

What are you reading?

Of the three that are on my nightstand, Interrupted by Jen Hatmaker is the one that has me most intrigued.

(is it true if you hold a mirror up to your computer screen you’ll see things in reverse?  You should totally try it with this picture because obviously I had not had enough coffee before I took it.) #imadork

I heart dry humor, sarcasm and talking or reading with people who are straight to the point.  This book. All of the above.

The question at the top on the back cover of the book asks a very thought-provoking, soul-stirring question:

HAVE YOU EVER FELT LIKE YOU ARE COMPLETELY MISSING THE POINT?

I can’t wait to hear your answers for this one?! If you’ve yet to share your answer to a question in our series of 31 Questions to Stir Your Soul, THIS is the one for you!

BE BRAVE!

love y’all

Have a great day!

what's your BEST YES (31 Questions)

by Karmen |

If you’re late to the party here’s a recap of this week’s thought-provoking , soul-stirring questions from our series

31 Questions to Stir Your Soul:

no worries, no grades will be taken this is just a little series to shake us all just a bit, lest we get stale!

Because who wants to be stale?  not me.  Oh, and lest you haven’t noticed, apparently I’m in love with the “lest we” phrase…this too shall pass

I will be over it and on to another soon enough 😛

back to our question recap………

 WHAT CHANGES LIVES?

What dream have you stopped dreaming? why?

what words of wisdom would the married YOU have offered to the single YOU?

what makes an expectation unrealistic?

Yesterday’s question was

what good things are you saying “no” to in order to leave room for the

great things the Lord has for you right now?

1704-yes-no

my “no” for today is a more elaborate blog post because my best yes this evening is quality time with my family and our small group…

today’s question for you dear friends:

What was fabulous or not so much about your day?

Share with us….will you?

love,

karmen

What changes lives? (31 Questions)

by Karmen |

“I opened the Bible and my life changed.”

Were the words I heard from a sweet soul just last night.

What changes lives?

Lots of things changes people.

Babies are born.

Loved ones pass.

Promotions come and jobs go.

Circumstantial changes are inevitable.

The weather (particularly in Alabama) is rarely the same from hour to hour.  How’s 20 degrees colder this morning than yesterday morning for an example?

But,  what changes lives?

Here’s 4 that have and continue to change me

  • GOD- Seriously, because He’s God and He can.
  • The Word-  It’s alive.  For real.  Open it up, read it, you’ll see.
    • For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

  • Prayer- Simple conversations between God and me have left my heart forever changed.
  • People.  YOU ARE WHO YOU HANG AROUND.  It’s just that simple.

It’s not too late to share your responses…

Today’s questions will be up later this afternoon because this little writing challenge has my heart and head whirling…

31 Questions to Stir Your Soul

by Karmen |

IT’S OCTOBER!

You know what that means,  right?

WOOHOO! It’s time to join The Nester and a blue jillion others bloggers for a 31 day writing SERIES~

Last year I tried my darndest to make all 31 days of influential People,

I think I made 19..

Thankfully, everyday’s a new day, yes?

Yes.

This year instead of 31 how-tos, 31 DIY ideas or 31 people, places or things

We’re going to consider

31questions

Not me, WE….we’re gonna use this white space to strengthen this community

to talk.

A question answer, ebb and flow

YOU are HALF of this…..

How will this work?  What will it look like?  Sound like?

That, will greatly depend on YOU, my friends.

How willing and engaged YOU choose to be here, in this place.

The plan:

  • I’ll post a question a day
  • YOU will share your thoughts or response to the said question in the COMMENT SECTION or your favorite social media outlet…(please keep all public comments RATED-G, thank you kindly)
  • The following day I will share a brief snippet or thought on the question from the previous day
  • Repeat…

You follow?

Just so you know, this won’t be nearly as much fun if you don’t play along!

INVITE A FRIEND!

BE BRAVE!

Remember this blog is all about REAL STORES about REAL LIFE…

So let’s do this….

Oh, and yes, I am aware that today is the second day of October which would technically mean that I’m already behind a day except that I’m not because today I’ve got two for you:

1.  Are you with me?  Are you in?  (And no, reading without commenting, that’s like half in…..BE ALL IN!)

COMMENT, ok?

and finally, today’s question

2.  WHAT CHANGES LIVES?

Gosh, this is going to be fun!  I can hardly wait to hear your responses.

Love y’all,

karmen
