How was your Thanksgiving?

Did you gobble til you wobbled?

Thanksgiving may be my new favorite.

It’s all the goodness of the holidays minus the hype of decorating, giftapalooza and partying til your pooped.

Please don’t misunderstand, we I decorate, give gifts, go to and host parties but Thanksgiving, well it was just extra good this year.

Because I love my husband and want to stay married I have given up hosting Easter and Christmas for my rather large, boisterous family.

I should mention many of the said family members (self included) are obsessed with dressing up and filling each holiday with as much excitement as possible.  I might also mention for no apparent reason we feel obliged to sing an Elvis, Beach Boys or super-group Alabama song at some point no matter the size or original intent of any said gathering.

Guitars, kids, wigs and feathers are for the most part standard family gathering paraphernalia.

I get it.  The fact that we are a lot to take but the cowboy himself said this year post the gathering, “Well that was almost pleasant.”

That was a gracious compliment from the man of few words.

Speaking of words…captions are often overrated….

Thanksgiving Day our goal: connection not perfection

These snapshots are a testament of The Lord’s goodness..

A disclaimer before the grand finale.

Know this.

We have never been “little dog” or “lap dog” people.

I have made sarcastic comments about people who have owned such dogs more times than I care to mention.

Meet Kaley, our, my son’s,  my lapdog.

The things you do for your kids, right?

Having said that,
